No one is actively using Windows 8.1 anymore. It was largely phased out in favor of newer versions.

Maybe because it's important to understand!

My friend's MacBook Pro is still running Windows 7, while most of my colleagues stick with it.

Likely several people still find Windows 10 tricky... especially after customization leads to occasional problems. Some run perfectly fine. I faced challenges in the beginning, thought about it being a Win10-Beta, and planned to switch later. The only reason for the change would be DX12—my i7 4790K at 4.5Ghz with a GTX1070—but we all know what DX12 has been like so far. I can hold off a bit longer until a DX12-only title is ready. Many machines at home (new or old) always use Windows 7/8, and if I build a new setup, it starts with a custom 8.1 system. Testing WinX is optional, depending on your preferences. Keys are affordable, so it really depends on what you need.

My cousin is running Windows 8.1 on his laptop and desktop, while I'm still on Windows 7. My HTPC uses Windows 10, and my netbook supports dual-booting between 7 and 10. Everyone else in the family is using Windows 7. On Windows 8.1 and sometimes on 7, I use ClassicShell for the start menu.

I generally think all versions of Windows 8 are flawed. Although there are definitely problems with Windows 10, I haven’t faced any issues with it. The only change I dislike is the new settings redesign. Otherwise, I really enjoy it so far.

I noticed a pattern where 'win 10' avoids god mode, the title doesn't show up, and renaming isn't possible.
