Windows 8 device linked to a Microsoft account
Hello everyone, I’m facing a simple problem that needs some guidance. A few months ago I left my job and used a Windows laptop entirely on my own. It ran Windows 8.1 Pro, was my personal Microsoft account, and I never linked it to a domain. But now someone is trying to access the machine, and it still uses my account for login. I’m convinced I cleared it, but I’m not sure. I’m wondering what I can do without reinstalling Windows completely. Do you know any methods to remove a Microsoft account remotely? I don’t have another user on the system, so I can’t let them log in. I just want to avoid sharing my login details.
It isn't appearing under my Microsoft account. My current devices are listed, but the laptop in question isn't. I wasn't aware of this until they emailed me a screenshot of the login page, which shows my name and personal email and requests a password.
It's been roughly a year, and I don't remember the exact details, but I assumed a fresh setup.
I’d recommend they consult someone experienced, as it looks like they’re unsure how to use the F12 key during installation with an inserted DVD or USB drive.
