I recently got a 1TB WD Blue in a Sabrent USB 3.0 external case. My 2011 MacBook is used a lot, though some programs like Sony Vegas Pro 14 don’t run on OS X. Can I install a full Windows 10 Pro or Windows 7 Pro version on this drive? It connects via USB and also gets power from the wall outlet needed for it. I’m thinking of using BootCamp or Dual Boot with the internal SSD, but it only has 120 GB, and I usually have just 20 GB free. The MacBook only supports USB 2.0, though it does have a Thunderbolt 2 port.

You may place it on your external HDD, though performance will be limited. https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5431182?tstart=0 Reminder: You’re using Thunderbolt 1, not 2.
