Keeping a zip file called just "Toolkit" isn't very convincing, particularly for someone unfamiliar with these platforms. @OP might want to consider HirensBootCD or the GEGeek Tech Toolkit to check their system and eliminate any potential threats.

It depends—using Kaspersky is a solid start, but additional scans can catch more threats and ensure deeper protection.

Sure, I get it. These are just various utilities like HWINFO, Speccy, CoreTemp, Prime95, and MGSDiag.

Hirens starts with a simple Windows installation from the disc image. It includes built-in tools to scan and eliminate viruses easily. If your malware evaded Kaspersky, this could be a good option—unless you need advanced formatting features.

The option in Kaserpsky Scans for detecting rootkits is typically labeled as "Rootkit Detection" or similar within the scan settings.

Check recent threat reports and security bulletins for updates on the virus. Look into Kaspersky's official statements or their database to see if any incidents were logged.

I didn't mention it was on my rig, but it was meant to pull something out and did. That item is okay. It's likely completely removed and left my computer alone except for its own recycle bin and a Kaspersky scan. I never said it wasn't either.
