You're considering moving your SSD from Windows 7 Pro to Windows 10, possibly using the same Windows key, while also upgrading the SSD itself. It’s possible if you transfer the data first and then reinstall the operating system on the new SSD. Make sure to back up important files before proceeding. The process involves copying data, formatting the new SSD, and installing Windows 10.

You don’t need to install drivers or download updates. Simply use the media creation tool provided by Microsoft.

You could copy the drive and then replace it, but it might not be reliable. Switching directly could cause issues if the key gets corrupted. Just make sure you back up data first.

Install the new OS on the additional storage using your existing activation key. After that, upgrade to Windows 10.

Avoid cloning your drive whenever possible. It significantly affects your performance, according to what I've learned.

You could try cloning it, or you might want to perform a fresh installation.

You’d create a backup of the existing drive first, then upgrade to the new SSD. Adding Windows 7 onto the fresh SSD and upgrading would be the best way to achieve a clean install of Windows 10 with a Windows 7 license.
