I actually attempted it on two machines without success unless I was doing it incorrectly. The folder 'Winlogin' wasn't present in the paths you provided... There was no entry under HKEY_LOCALMACHINE/SOFTWARE/MICROSOFT/WINDOWS NT/CURRENT VERSION/WINLOGIN. I discovered another deeper folder at HKEY_LOCALMACHINE/SOFTWARE/MICROSOFT/WINDOWS NT/CurrentVersion/WINLOGIN. As mentioned before, AutoAdminLogin wasn't available on either system, so I just added the string value to WINLOGIN. Both machines are using Windows 7 64-bit SP1—one was Ultimate and the other Professional. Which version are you running? Do you think I made an error? Would like to try your method once more... just for another approach. Thanks.

I noticed the error, it was my mistake due to late-night typos. I changed the text to remove the mistakes. Thank you for bringing this to my attention.

Sure, I'll attempt it again on a different machine later tonight. Thanks!

This approach also functions on a machine connected to a Domain Controller. The netplwiz command isn't applicable here. Additionally, note that passwords are kept in plaintext within the registry. For the user, that could be acceptable, but this is simply general information about maintaining security awareness.
