Hello everyone, I'm working on putting together my new desktop and ran into some problems while installing Windows 7 via USB stick. I used an ultraISO to make a USB HDD+ drive, which is a Windows 7 English 64-bit home premium edition. The system detects the USB but then the screen goes black after about 4-5 seconds and doesn't come back on. The BIOS seems normal. Could you help figure out what might be wrong? My hardware list includes an i5-4690, Asus H97 Plus, XFX R9 280 Black Edition, GSKILL 2X4GB RAM, a 840Evo 120GB SSD, Corsair CX750M, and I'm really appreciative of your assistance!

Possible issue could be improper installation of the flash drive or compatibility problems with it. You might want to try the official Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool mentioned. Also, note that I also used a Windows 7 ISO file. Let me know if you need more help.

Thanks for the feedback, Darkman. I’ll test a different flash drive and another ISO.

Hello Darkman. The ISO and USB burning tools you used didn’t make any changes. I also attempted to change between SSD and HDD. Any other ideas? Could it be a hardware issue or a configuration error?

After two tough nights, I finally had the windows installed. I used an external USB optical drive instead of a USB stick, and it all worked perfectly. Thanks for your time and assistance!

It seems you didn't encounter an issue starting from USB in the BIOs. That's great!
