The Windows 7 search bar isn't working properly. It's hard to locate files, even though I've tried turning off and enabling indexing and making sure everything is included in the index. Many folders on my desktop are still missing from the results.

Initially it didn’t function properly... let’s skip the jokes. Was your Windows recently updated or patched? Microsoft’s search bar has been notoriously poor, which is why you rarely see “bing it.”

I installed a Windows Defender update, though it's currently turned off. I've checked all my resources and searched countless online sources, but nothing seems to work.

I often find the search feature frustrating (sometimes it doesn’t help at all) and I’m unsure how to improve it. I usually rely on pinning folders for quick access in the taskbar instead.
