I attempted to upgrade from Windows 7 to 10 but encountered issues. Now I’m stuck with a black screen and no web help. Using the spare Windows 7 OEM disc doesn’t let me install Windows, only run it. It seems my system never reached Windows 10 originally. Since I don’t have critical files, I’m fine deleting everything and starting fresh. Can I still use the product key with the OEM disc I have? Is there another way to begin again?

You can transfer your external hard drive from your laptop to another PC, download the Windows 10 ISO from the official site, save it to a CD or USB, and then install it onto the new drive.

It turns out I can simply use the original disc to launch the Toshiba restoration tool, which resets everything to the default factory state. After doing that, I just upgraded to version 10 and everything functions properly.
