Windows 7 or 8.1?
Windows 7 or 8.1?
Many believe 8.1 is a weak point, though it's not as terrible as vista. Windows 7 was genuinely impressive. Which operating system would you pick for a new setup and why?
8.1 stands out in every aspect. Or perhaps too unwilling to alter just the one part that differs—the beginning.
Metro wasn't what the desktop fans expected, yet Windows 8.1 delivers solid performance. It might have struggled in the serious business sector, though companies only switch when they really must.
Windows 8 had some issues, Windows 8.1 performs well, and Windows 10 combines features from both 7 and 8.1. I prefer Windows 8.1 over Windows 7.
8.1 is really great, it's just the metro... sorry about "modern UI" that bothers me—it's annoying, but you don't have to stick with it most of the time. It's just the usual trend where people resist trying new things, or sometimes don't even attempt them. A few of them really dislike it, which is understandable, but I think that's a small group.
I don’t see any practical benefit in the start menu or other areas beyond the search bar, which is why I don’t understand the excitement.
