Windows 7 or 8.1?
Windows 7 or 8.1?
Hello! Because of an installation issue with Ubuntu and my product key not working on Windows 8, I’m considering buying a new Windows version. I’m comfortable with both Windows 7 and 8.1, but I’d rather stick with Windows 7 if possible. If you think Windows 8.1 will be much better, I’ll go with that option.
Because you're more comfortable with version 7, I suggest sticking with it. However, if you're looking for something fresh, version 8.1 is a good alternative.
Many factors need attention. Do you play classic titles? If yes, chances are they won’t run smoothly on Windows 8.1 or Windows 7 due to limited compatibility. You’ll likely notice a slight improvement in frame rates with Windows 7 in games. If you prefer the Metro interface, Windows 8.1 offers a decent alternative, and there’s a mod called startisback that can make it behave more like Windows 7. Ultimately, what works depends on your specific needs.
Choose Windows 8.1 for these key benefits:
1. It represents the next phase of Windows, offering features like the Windows Store and Microsoft account integration.
2. An integrated start menu is coming soon, though you can still use a separate start screen if preferred; recent updates have improved mouse and keyboard compatibility.
3. Performance improvements in gaming, faster boot times, and enhanced power management thanks to newer processors.
