I’m satisfied with the 7 reasons not to change plus I rely on WMC every day. I’m too relaxed to check if WMC handles wake-record/sleep power settings properly on the 8.1 model. I’m counting on it to keep my 2 Xbox 360s from costing me $500 a year in service and rental fees.

The concept is getting better in version 8.1, though I appreciate the transparency of aero. My concern is its shiny look, whereas I prefer the flatter style of Windows 8. On the start screen I mainly want to rearrange, add or remove items, and adjust tile sizes. I think LG should create Windows with a design inspired by the LG G3 interface. I’m somewhere in the middle—whether I want to run both OS X and Windows or stick to a dedicated hackintosh feels uncertain. I’m leaning toward the former since I’d like to purchase an HP Envy 15t slim quad, which supports Windows. If my creative work runs smoothly on Windows, I could easily transfer it to a flash drive and use it with either my laptop or desktop.

It was dropped due to efforts to standardize the operating system across devices. Aero consumed significant CPU and GPU resources for a basic window effect, draining battery quickly. I don’t think it will return to Windows since Microsoft continues promoting Windows 10 as a unified platform. If you prefer bold solutions, Compiz on Linux provides superior visuals compared to what’s available on Windows.
