Hello. I recently set up Windows 7 on an older laptop, removed the hard drive containing the operating system, and transferred it to my main PC. The computer starts up, but when the password screen appears, I can't type or move the mouse, though I can move them in BIOS. What might be causing this issue? Please let me know if you have more questions.

I faced the same problem when I reinstalled Windows 7. The solution was either relying solely on the keyboard or connecting via PS/2 devices (the round green and purple connectors, if your motherboard has them). You might also consider changing the USB ports, as some are wired with a backup connector that functions automatically.

Check the front headers. Drivers aren't installed according to the Win 7 ancient wisdom of settings.

It might not function properly. Removing the hard drive, installing drivers, and reinserting it could cause compatibility issues or data loss if not done correctly.
