Windows 7 installation may display a black screen due to driver issues or system conflicts.
My friend purchased a Toshiba L505-es5018 with a faulty HDD. After replacing the drive, inserting the Windows 7 installation disk triggers loading the Windows logo, then a black screen appears with backlight. I plan to try a USB installer tonight but need suggestions.
It might seem like a GPU problem, but does your BIOS show any output?
shows bios, boot menu, initial loading, and starting screen of the disk are visible, along with my Hiren boot CD. I plan to install Windows on the HDD using my desktop, preload some drivers, and then insert the preloaded drive into the laptop.
