I checked online, but it seems just Diskpart formatting is involved. I don’t want to wipe my Windows 10 installation.

Windows Vista and newer (64-bit) all use GPT drives by default. Your source of information is noted. Edit: All Windows 7 installation images feature dual-mode setup and start with UEFI.

You're working with a 32-bit ISO and require a 64-bit version.

You can obtain an ISO file directly from Microsoft using your key. Or, let me know and I'll check what options are available.

GPT is a technology used for booting, while supporting it involves specific configurations. Vista and 7 do include GPT, but you can't boot from a GPT partition unless using UEFI mode. This information is widely recognized and available on Microsoft's documentation.

You seem uncertain about what I'm saying. Can you clarify?

It clearly states the requirements. Your setup needs UEFI, 64-bit support, and UEFI boot activated. Otherwise it will fall back to the CSM which only recognizes MBR partition tables for startup.

I see you're debating 64-bit compatibility and UEFI, but the reality is very few non-UFE systems support 64-bit. It mainly applies to original Phenom 1 and earlier, plus first-gen core series and lower models. It's good to know, though—maybe you could have been more direct.
