Windows 7 | HyperV
Windows 7 | HyperV
I've seen many comments saying it doesn't function properly. I tried the newer version, which is more recent and similar: https://www.starwindsoftware.com/starwin...r#download. When attempting to load an image, the system reports a boot failure. The restore disc also fails to locate the file. However, when navigating to drivers and checking folders, my HDD appears in the list under my computer, and I can browse its contents. I've gone through numerous troubleshooting steps. Even the recovery discs sometimes give errors about language settings. This is why I'm desperate to install a Windows 7 disc and restore from it. I've read many guides, watched videos, and checked forums, but finding a clear solution has been difficult. Despite being tech-savvy, I often encounter confusing information that back-and-forths me. My patience is wearing thin. That's why I'm reaching out for guidance. I've dealt with anxiety and depression, making it hard to focus on this. Still, I'm determined to succeed. This is just the second step in my upgraded PC plan. Next, I aim to run Windows 11/7 on a Mac for music software like Logic Pro on Windows 11 (which I've used since 2003) and older VST files. I apologize if my explanation is unclear—I'm trying to simplify everything. I'm grateful for the advice I've received so far, even though it's scattered. This update to Windows 11 has been a relief; most issues from Windows 10 have disappeared. Some changes, like forced updates, once caused problems, but now everything seems stable. For those curious about how Windows 11 improved over Windows 10 for me, I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thank you all for your support. If this isn't resolved, I'm truly thankful for the compassion and effort from tech communities.
During Windows 7 restoration, the system fails to recognize the restore files no matter what you try. It seems the complete restore package wasn’t included, only the VHD file. Switching to using the folder still didn’t resolve the issue. I used the Accer laptop recovery discs to clean up Windows 7, but it hit a language pack error and halted. I don’t have a full Windows 7 installation disc, just the restore and recovery media. I need a full restore of the laptop so I can access everything I’ve already set up.
Convert the current picture into a format that matches the image you created using the Windows backup tool. Don't rely on this approach—it won't work and won't help. Reimage the entire drive using disk2vhd or another P2V method for the host program you plan to use.
Do you possess a VHD from the laptop? Typically, you'd insert it into Hyper-V and it should start from there.
Alright. I will update this once I get to that point. I am too stressed out about this now. I really thought all the steps I was taking in the like 8+ hours I was working on it.. and I am drained now. I was too worked up, exciting things I was on the cusp of getting it to work, and then it didn't.. So I will come back to this in about a week or so... I need to decompressed. I did read about that disk2vhd before. but I didn't try it because people were saying it did not work with windows 7 because it was so old, and something was missing or something.. That's what I am talking about. I have not been able to find multiple sources about this that say the same thing. Thank you very much for being awesome! I really appreciate you
Why not give it a shot? In most cases it might not function, but it should be possible with the newer version I’ve tried before.
