I need a Windows 7 setup on my laptop to enable the specific BMW software for scanning my car. I have one HDD with Windows 7 installed on it, which I copied to an empty laptop drive. The Windows boot works, but the laptop lacks working USB ports or Ethernet connections. There seem to be no drivers available, and updating them doesn’t help. I’m wondering if I can obtain drivers for the laptop and transfer them directly from my PC, then install them on this machine. I also don’t require these settings, so any advice on creating a fresh Windows 7 ISO from a thumb drive would be helpful.

since no one developed a driver for an operating system that wouldn't work on that device, laptop parts are unique rather than standard. without a driver, the software can't function. consider using a system running Windows 7 or start a virtual machine.

Launch a virtual machine. Set up the required software environment for your car mechanic tools, compatible with versions up to 2003.

I just used a different, older, worse laptop from AMD, installed the drivers, and now it's working. My Intel model ignored all those drivers, but AMD accepted them somehow.

the hint suggests no one has created drivers for the latest hardware since support ended in Windows 7.
