Service updates? Premium access? Elite tier? If your system handles over 16 gigabytes of memory, upgrade to Pro; otherwise, opt for Home Premium. The bulk of Ultimate and Pro content is rarely something you’ll actually need.

With only 8GB RAM, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit might still work but could feel sluggish. A lighter option like Windows 10 or even a custom Linux distro could offer better performance.

yeah, the other packs don't really do much more then add useless features Source: I've used Home Premium, Pro and Ultimate, there is literally no difference except the allowed RAM amount Edit: if you need more info check here for the features https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_7_editions

From a practical standpoint, the issue goes beyond just memory capacity restrictions. From a user-focused view, the main concern seems to be the RAM limit itself.
