Hi, thank you for sharing. I understand your situation and the challenges you're facing. It sounds like you've grown accustomed to Windows 11 but are now looking at ways to run Windows 7. You mentioned needing to install USB 3.0 drivers and using it for games like GTA San Andreas, Photoshop, and others.

Regarding your specs—32GB RAM, i7-9700K, RTX 2080—those are solid for modern tasks. If you're considering running Windows 7, it’s important to note that support is limited and compatibility can be tricky. You might want to explore alternatives like Linux distributions (e.g., Ubuntu) which offer better stability and community support.

If you're open to it, I can help you check what software works on Windows 7 or guide you through setting up a virtual machine for testing. Let me know how you'd like to proceed!

I also like Windows 7, but it's a shame it doesn't support newer hardware.

That's the operating system I've relied on the most, aside from XP which I used while working with Vista.

I used to rely on Vista for a while since I wasn’t familiar with updating it. When I upgraded to a new PC, I realized the system lacked a 2.0 USB port, making installation impossible. However, I understood that it could still be installed on modern hardware.

Windows 8.1 performs well overall, but its classic shell feels quite different from Windows 7. It offers a modern interface while maintaining some legacy features.

I used it for just a brief period, yet it felt quite alike to version 7 with classic shell. Keep in mind that Windows 8.1 won’t receive support after January next year. If you need a stable platform, you’d have to stick with Windows 10 or 11, or move to Linux. I noticed Windows 10 has improved significantly over time and appears more refined. It seems they’re not making major updates anymore, reducing the risk of issues. I believe Windows 10 will remain supported until around 2025. I’m optimistic that Windows 11 will be solid by then, or Windows 12 might arrive as a better option—who knows what will happen.
