Hello! There might still be options to purchase Windows 7 keys, though availability can vary. You can check official Microsoft sites or authorized resellers for legitimate purchases. Be cautious of third-party sources to avoid scams. Let me know if you need more details!

It's about financial and technical reasons. Buying a key for Windows 7 means you're paying to unlock updates, security patches, and support. Since the OS reached its end of support and life, those updates stop coming, which can leave your system vulnerable. You're essentially paying to keep the software running, but it may not be worth it long-term.

MS is currently taking in Win 7 keys to install Win 10. The person asking is trying to secure those keys to install Win 10 more affordably than purchasing the full license.

A simple yet affordable option is purchasing a 50$ refurbished PC with a Windows 7 license and using the serial number found on the sticker. The license key might be linked to an OEM motherboard or system such as HP or Dell.

Moderators' observation: Connecting directly to key reselling ads is similar to linking to eBay, Craigslist, or Kijiji. You can still suggest them generally.

I needed a fresh Win7 activation for a backup HTPC using Windows Media Center. I bought a key from a company claiming to be part of Microsoft’s partner network. It functioned perfectly on first use. Usually I buy directly from MSFT, but since they stopped selling Win7 keys, I had to try this alternative. I just looked at the site and saw they’re still offering them, though I’m avoiding sharing the link as instructed.

The guidelines focus on ensuring only direct links to ad listings are active. This policy stops individuals from earning benefits by connecting to their own or others' posts.

It seems you might have unintentionally violated a guideline by linking directly to specific items on eBay. Let me know how I can assist!

We apply careful judgment. Using software and Windows makes things slightly more challenging since Microsoft frequently issues removal notices for ISO downloads. For hardware, the guidelines mainly focus on agreements and discussions about whether a product offers a good value.

I bought my Windows 7 activation key from PC Destination, which is actually a Microsoft partner. There were no problems during the setup, and it’s been working well for over two years. I’m using it on an HTPC that runs Windows Media Center with a cable tuner. The only alternatives for recording DRM content are Tivo or a Verizon cable box, both of which cost more than my current setup. My other two workstations are running Windows 10 Pro from Microsoft.
