From my understanding, if your Windows 10 activation comes from a retail license that hasn’t been used on another machine, you should still be able to apply the same key for a new Windows 11 setup. I recently built a PC in November and successfully installed Windows 11 using an older Windows 8.1 Pro license.

According to what I know, you can trace back to a "Windows Vista to Windows 7 upgrade key" and it should help activate Windows 11.

Yes, since Windows 7 and 8 users can upgrade for free to Windows 10, and Windows 10 users get a free upgrade to Windows 11.
