First drive triggers a registry error when restarting and suggests using a boot media for resolution. Second drive fails to boot entirely. The attached picture shows its behavior with the second drive. Any indication about what's happening with the second one? With the first, I wasn't concerned since I was already transferring necessary files from it. All other data I kept over the years was outdated.

You're seeing this message on your screen. It indicates a bootable media exists somewhere. This appears on both drives, but it disappears once the HDD is taken out, revealing the earlier display.

It's recommended to use a recovery disk and fix the installation. It seems your boot manager might be corrupted.
