Windows 11/10 sometimes stops unexpectedly while performing random tasks such as browsing and playing games.
My PC frequently stops unexpectedly while playing games or browsing the web. The shutdown happens suddenly, like a screen animation ending abruptly, and even after clicking the cancel button it keeps restarting. Sometimes it takes between 10 to 1 hour for the PC to shut down completely. Here are my system details:
Ryzen 3600 (stock speed, no overclocking)
Stock CPU cooler, aftermarket paste applied
Asus Prime B550 board
16GB DDR4 3600MHz (set to 3200MHz)
500GB HDD
240GB SATA SSD
Powercolor RX6600
Seasonic 520W modular PSU, bronze color
This is unusual. Most unexpected shutdowns simply power off the PC without entering the shutdown mode... as I understand it.
Consider performing a clean boot to determine if the issue persists—follow the instructions carefully and avoid disabling any Microsoft services or ensuring Windows loads properly.
A clean boot may reveal if a startup program is responsible.
If it resolves the problem, you should restart those programs one by one to identify the culprit.
You might also want to check the temperatures; overheating could trigger a shutdown.
