I have a query about where to set up drivers for my PC. Some just install and it works fine, but others ask for a path. I need to install my Wi-Fi driver and it displays a path, then under that shows the device name with a message saying "no suitable driver?" and the install option is grayed out. I’m confused because I’m trying to install drivers and seeing this message.

I’m using Windows 11 64 bit, specifically the MSI z790 tomahawk max. Also, someone mentioned they have this board on a friend’s system and it doesn’t support Wi-Fi drivers in Windows 10—this isn’t Windows 7 or anything. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also, the Wi-Fi adapter doesn’t appear in the Device Manager.

Did you retrieve the drivers from the provided link? If not, visit the site and download the necessary files. An installer will handle the installation process.

I believe the issue is that Windows 11 isn't detecting my Wi-Fi adapter, and I'm trying to understand how to make it visible.

Verify in BIOS whether the Wi-Fi adapter is turned off. This is likely because your board includes WiFi, but the setting may be missing.

the wi-fi / BT controller is configured to auto in the bio. it seems to allow only auto wi-fi, only BT, or both off. perhaps the MB wi-fi controller is faulty?

I managed to get it running again, but I had to reset the CMOS.
