It seems like something is still working oddly. I was just considering replacing your PC, but maybe a more stable operating system would be better instead!
It doesn't seem like it was permanently fixed, but when it began happening, just unplugging and plugging the monitor cable resolved it. Quirky, but at least I found a workaround. It's a bit disappointing having to do that with such a costly machine.
Hi, I just set up an account to share my thoughts and thank you all. Laze, your post felt like it came from me after years of building PCs. This issue was really frustrating, but finding the answer on this site helped. For me, the problem was always about the display port, just as you mentioned. After unplugging and plugging back in, everything worked again. I was surprised how simple it was. I might not have noticed the easy solution until then. Thanks again, and appreciate everyone’s advice.
I wanted to thank this discussion for assisting me in resolving my issue. My situation wasn’t identical but similar enough that you provided a solution. I’m using a brand new laptop with Windows 11, connected via USB-C through an adapter. I recently added a cable to extend the USB-C from the adapter, allowing me to move the device to a more accessible spot. After plugging it in, the laptop slowed down significantly and the secondary screen failed to appear. Removing the extension cable and connecting directly to the adapter restored full performance right away.
