I've observed that sometimes when I sit down at my computer—like after coming home from work—I try to launch a game or program from a desktop shortcut. Initially, nothing happens; the icon remains inactive and doesn't respond. After a brief pause, perhaps five seconds, it suddenly comes to life, and double-clicking works perfectly. During this delay, I can't access the right-click menu on the desktop, while quick launch and start menu icons function normally. My system is always powered on, regardless of whether I turn it off or put it to sleep. Any advice?

Interesting. I have a mechanical drive in the system as my third and fourth storage device. I didn’t expect them since my two main drives are both NVMe. I’ll check it out. It might help to temporarily disable the drive sleep on those mechanical drives to see if the issue resolves.

The issue persists consistently, with the desktop window freezing briefly during idle time. It seems to affect anyone using the system.

Sure, I understand the problem you're facing. It seems related to the UWP Process or Energy Saver features on Windows 11. Have you tried checking those settings or updating your system?

Sorry, it seems the update didn't resolve the issue. I don't understand the problem at all.

Apologies for the delayed reply. From what I understand, it appears to occur when my physical hard drives restart after entering an idle mode. I haven’t conducted a thorough test; however, when I accessed power settings and turned off sleep mode, it seemed to resolve the issue. I only tried this once and then re-enabled the setting. My hard drive is several years old, and I prefer it not to run at full speed continuously when it’s idle.

I've been keeping an eye on this discussion for a few months. I'm experiencing precisely the same problems as the original poster. I've tried the same troubleshooting steps in this thread without success. I'm hoping someone can provide a solution and will keep checking for updates.
