Hi, I tried upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11 using a bootable drive with Rufus. Everything seemed fine until the installation reached 10% and the PC restarted repeatedly, forcing another install cycle. My system specs are Ryzen 5 2600, 16GB DDR4, X570 chipset, ASRock B450M, 128GB SSD, 1TB NVMe. I made sure to enable UEFI and did a full clean on the C drive, ran chkdsk and sfc/scannow, unplugged all unnecessary devices, and used a new thumb drive specifically for this purpose. Despite these steps, the issue keeps happening. Many forums suggest different solutions but don’t seem to help. I’m really stuck and would appreciate your assistance. Thank you!

When restarting, take out the USB drive. It continues the setup or boots into Windows 10? Only the installation files are moved from the USB to the source disk. The installer will restart and should pick up where it left off on the disk instead of using the USB.

Thank you for the update! The issue begins during the Windows 11 setup, as it continues to restart at 10% even after you remove the USB drive.

Avoid skipping the first restart; ensure it runs properly. If issues persist, generate a fresh installation using Rufus or the media creator tool.

Sorry, I did that too. After rebooting, it showed this message, probably because the setup didn’t complete on the drive. I’m going to try making a fresh installation media since it might be damaged.

Clear the CMOS and attempt once more. When it remains unresponsive at 10%, interrupt the power supply during the restart (once the system is powered down but before the POST completes). If the device selection prompt appears, navigate through the BIOS settings to verify the boot sequence.

Yes, I understand you're referring to upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11. Installation support for Windows 10 is available, though the process may differ slightly compared to newer versions.

Hello! It seems I face the same problem again. A new PC built by a custom build specialist. Mobo: MSI X670E Gaming Plus CPU: Ryzen 9 9950x3D. I've tested various ports, USB drives, boot methods (mkusb, Rufus, media tool), with and without secure boot. Ubuntu installs smoothly. Windows 11 keeps restarting at 10%. Instead, I switched to Windows 10 Home and upgraded to Windows 11 Home without issues. To note, the official Windows 11 Pro stick didn't show up, and my Windows 11 Pro pendrive, made with the media tool, is stuck in a 10% loop.

Hey everyone! I'm facing the same problem Kelzo mentioned. I have a Ryzen 5 5500 with 16GB DDR4 at 3200MHz, NVMe 1TB drive, brand new. The original system used Windows 10 with MBR and a different CPU and SSD. After upgrading both, I can only install Windows 11 in MBR mode now. Any attempt to install on the NVMe drive crashes after about 10% of the process. The PC freezes completely, mouse stops working, then it restarts and starts over. I ran MemTest and didn't find any issues. I've formatted two different USB drives with Rufus and tried various Windows 11 versions, but progress is slow—around 10% to 11%.

The upgrade or fresh install of Windows 10 to 11 caused issues (needs ISO method or a Win 11 PC). https://www.guru3d.com/story/windows-10-...port-ends/ Attempted to assist two friends: one used MCT from Win 11, another via ISO.
