Windows 11 running several games often causes a drop in frame rate.
Hey everyone, welcome! I just switched to Windows 11 to try it out and ran into an issue I wasn’t facing with Windows 10. Let me break it down simply. I enjoy playing multiplayer games and grinding through content, which can be time-consuming. Sometimes I switch to a second monitor to keep things running smoothly. Recently, this started happening when I was playing one game on one screen and briefly paused, then another game would launch. The whole system would freeze until I switched tabs or restarted. It takes a moment, then it restarts but the other game starts lagging and freezing. My main question is: what’s causing this problem and how can I fix it? I searched YouTube but kept finding strange links that seemed too good to be true. If you have any ideas or solutions, please share! Thanks in advance!
Consider switching to windowed mode for certain games. Also, look into RAM and CPU usage—Windows 11 might be consuming a lot of memory.
I notice the games are consuming a lot more than expected for some reason. It seems they’re using up about 93% of my RAM. With two slots available, I think adding more would help and see if it resolves the issue. I’ve found identical models so I can purchase two additional units of the same type.
Using 93% of your RAM likely improves performance, though I can't ensure a fix as an outsider. A standard speed would have been better, but matching capacity is important. If you locate similar units, it’s ideal. How much RAM do you currently have? 16GB is the typical minimum for Windows now.
We have 16GB available. I just placed an order for identical units, likely to arrive tomorrow. I’m hoping this resolves the issue. Appreciate your reply!
