Windows 11 release 21H2 causes lag during video playback while gaming.
Hey everyone, since moving to Windows 11 I’ve faced problems with my second monitor. It keeps stuttering and freezing during gameplay, regardless of the title. I thought someone might know what’s going on. From what I see, all components look fine, and I’m using a NVME SSD. I’m open to sharing any details that could help, especially since I can’t switch back to Windows 10 (I think so). Thanks ahead!
Your game is configured for a full screen display. Change it to a borderless window.
Despite using borderless windowed mode—which isn’t suitable for gaming—or even standard windowed playback, your video still lagged. This issue didn’t appear on Windows 10, even when displayed in full screen.
I understand what Borderless Windowed means, but I've seen it slow things down. Running the app fullscreen shouldn't really affect how smooth my browser plays back videos.
Yes, I'm using four monitors with Windows 11 right now. The behavior you're noticing depends on how memory is managed for different window types.
verify that despite borderless video playback, performance remains inconsistent
... 1.) Charming glasses (**G) [joeks] 2.)... This [Naturally] resembles an I/O issue - Your input lags behind the need. 3.) some operations need a specific delay period (similar to watching videos: If the clip is delayed, the lip sync fails). 4.) at first I’m pretty sure your VSync isn’t enabled. Like you’re using a 30Hz screen... Maybe it’s just your device. 5.) well, if I tried another game to check, I’d make sure it’s different enough.
