I attempted to set it up on a different storage device, but the issue persists.

I understand this is still a few months old, yet I face the exact same problem. Technically I’m using a Ryzen 3600 with the B450 chipset. My motherboard is an MSI Gaming Plus Max running the latest BIOS. I also have an NVMe boot drive paired with a SATA SSD as a backup. Memtest confirms no RAM issues, and I ran a fresh Windows 11 install on a completely new NVMe drive from another supplier, applying the latest updates and drivers—including GEFORCE Experience for the RTX 2060. All onboard chipset and audio settings work consistently. No changes after the install, even when switching browsers or using different software.

Additional details:
- Symptoms appear after boot and login; when idle for about half an hour, the system usually crashes with HYPERVISOR_ERROR, occasionally showing IRRLQ_NOT_LE_OR_EQUAL_TO_ZERO or other codes.
- BIOS defaults are set, except SVM is enabled and Windows has Hyper-V, Virtual Machine, and WSL activated. Windows Sandbox is turned off.
- The issue persists even when SVM is disabled in BIOS, which blocks Windows Virtualization features—even when turned off in Windows.
- When XMP is disabled and Virtualization is off, BSOD tends to occur later (around 60 seconds after login or 45 minutes idle), though this seems inconsistent.
- Windows can trigger BSOD in 60 seconds after login or 45 minutes of inactivity, which is quite variable.
- Running a game with GPU activity rarely causes a BSOD; it can last hours on the game menu and only occasionally crashes.
- I plan to perform a clean install tomorrow without internet and test stability on Linux, possibly gaining more logs. If anyone has suggestions, I’d really appreciate it!

Updating the previous notes:
- Running Windows 11 offline shows identical BSOD errors, often IRQ and HYPERVISOR codes.
- Linux kernel crashes right after enabling DE; system boots normally.
- Tested Fedora and Parrot; this hardware has worked before.
- Stability depends on kernel boot settings—ACPI flag must be enabled for full stability.
- Minor instability seen in runlevel 3; kernel panics with IRQ references and soft locks.
- Soft locks appear linked to CPU state issues, not just crashes.
- Kernel seems unable to release CPU from soft lock even with CSTATES off.
- Windows behaves differently; it tolerates longer before BSOD, especially during games or idle browsing.
- Journal logs from Linux could help if kernel panic occurs.
@MrQuentin – any solution you’ve tried?

I also faced a similar issue with @Cynapse beginning in mid-August. Running MSI B450 Tomahawk Max with a Ryzen 5 3600, 32GB RAM, and the Colorful GTX 1660Super. Occasionally I encountered HYPERVISOR_ERROR for about 30 to 45 minutes after startup and sometimes when idle, but games never triggered the BSOD. I've disabled XMP, HyperV, and virtualization settings, and haven't overclocked anything else.

I've got the same setup—B450 chipset, Ryzen 5 3600, matching IRQL and HYPERVISOR settings. Running on Windows 11. If anyone has any insights, please share! It seems like the issue might be related to the operating system. Anyone experiencing similar problems on Windows 10?

No details found about periodical BSOD. Your system runs an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 with 6 cores at 3.60 GHz on a B450 TOMAHAWK MAX with 32 GB RAM and 3.60 GHz MS. BSOD occurred around the end of 2022 on Windows 10. You've tried updating BIOS and drivers, but still experience frequent BSODs. Some errors reported include HYPERVISOR_ERROR (20001) and DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (d1).

Error indicating the processor has stopped working, likely due to an AMD Ryzen issue.

I face the same issue with my Ryzen 5 3600, MSI B450 A Pro MAX, and RTX 2070. I encounter BSODs with Hypervisor Errors like DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, DPC_Watchdog_Violation or Kernel_Security_Check_Failure. My system boots slowly, the VGA light stays on, and I've already replaced RAM, SSD, and added an older GT710. Boot times are still longer, and the VGA light remains active. I haven’t seen a BSOD in about a day. Has a CPU swap helped? Anyone confirm it’s a CPU problem, or could a new CPU fix it? I was expecting the GPU to fail but hope for a simple CPU solution. I’ve been dealing with this for a few months and would appreciate any advice! Thanks!

In my situation it seemed like the motherboard was faulty and/or the BIOS was swapped. My daughters' ASUS board got replaced with a Gigabyte one, and there were no issues there. My sons' motherboard had its BIOS updated, and he's been running Windows 11 smoothly for two months.
