I recently assembled my PC and everything functions properly until now. When I power it down, the mouse and keyboard lights return to their default state, indicating the control software was closed, but the PC stays on without any display output until I turn it off completely. Restarting causes a loading screen that appears for about seven minutes, followed by a random purple-pinkish screen with flashing shapes before the PC restarts. Everything works again after boot, but the problems continue when I try to restart or put it into sleep mode. I've experienced two BSODs with the message DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE. I attempted driver updates but they didn't resolve the issue. I'm thinking about reinstalling Windows. Update: Disconnecting my Wi-Fi adapter resolved the power functions, but I'm still unsure why it's behaving this way.

Hi, you encountered the sleep/hibernation trap. Please disable any settings related to sleep or hibernation in power management, and enable fastboot. In BIOS, turn off all power management options—S5 should be off. Fastboot should never support sleep; use shutdown instead. Since this isn’t a laptop, you’ll need to restart each time if you truly want power savings. If you need the system running, lock it down and turn off the monitor if it’s a disturbance. If you’re unsure, open Command Prompt and run powercfg.exe /hibernate off. Congrats on setting up a new PC! Restart is the only way to get a fresh boot.

Great idea! Disabling the WiFi adapter's wake-up feature could potentially improve performance.

When S5 is turned off in the BIOS, it likely won't function either.
