Hey guys, I've never been able to get to the bottom of this issue with any Winodws PC I've had but when I have my three external hard drives connected, it takes approx 2-3 mins to boot vs the normal 20ish seconds? Any idea if there is some setting or registry hack that will tell Winodws to ignore looking for or scanning drives on bootup? It's happened on the last 3-4 PCs I've woned. Thanks in advance!
Disable USB startup in BIOS and configure the drive as the main one.
I'll check again, though I'm confident you've adjusted the USB settings on all your PCs recently. Do you mean setting the drive as primary in the BIOS? You have three external hard drives.
Turning off USB boot makes the computer use just one drive as the main startup option, so it loads from that instead of other spots.
I've already tested all possible solutions and every setting in the last three PC BIOS versions. This model doesn<|pad|>, so USB boot isn't available. I get the idea since I've been working on this puzzle for over a decade, but it seems unlikely to fix. Thanks!
