Windows 11 mouse cursor freezing or lagging issue.
Windows 11 mouse cursor freezing or lagging issue.
It happens sometimes, unexpectedly, when the mouse cursor freezes slightly while hovering over certain areas. This only occurs on Windows 11. It doesn’t affect Windows 10. My system specs include an i9-13900K processor, Asus TUF 4080 laptop, 64GB DDR5-6000 RAM, Samsung 980/990 Pro SSDs, a TUF GAMING Z790-PLUS with Wi-Fi and DDR5 MMO motherboard, and a 1200W power supply. The mouse is a wireless Logitech G305. I found out that reducing the polling rate from 1000 to 500 helps somewhat, but it still happens often and bothers me. All my software is up to date. It looks like the problem is related to Windows 11 and wireless mice. This isn’t the first time I’ve installed Windows 11, and this issue started now. I tried another wireless mouse, but no solution seems available. I’ll share a video later explaining what I’m talking about. Thanks all.
Consider replacing the battery with a fresh one from a reliable manufacturer in the g305 model. This is particularly useful if the device relies on a generic or off-brand power source. Even premium batteries may not always be of high quality or authentic. Additionally, if the same issue arises with another mouse, it might stem from the same problem. Another solution involves connecting a USB extension cable between the host computer and the mouse dongle. Positioning the dongle higher and farther from the case can improve signal reception and transmission. Keeping the dongle in a cooler environment may also help.
Thanks for the input. I've already handled all of that. The concern seems to be related to Windows 11. When I run version 10, the issue doesn't appear. I plan to purchase a wired mouse tonight to check if it resolves the problem. This should help rule out another factor.
