Despite several warnings not to upgrade, my PC did so a week ago. Minor issues only, but now I’m facing some memory problems. I own 32 gigabytes of 3200mhz RAM (four 8GB modules) which Windows 10 usually showed in Bios and Task Manager. No big deal. I tried swapping in two new sticks (photo attached) to see if it would help. Remembering the speeds wasn’t easy since the labels didn’t match. After installing them, both Task Manager and Bios confirmed 2133mhz, which was surprising but plausible. It seems I’d have to settle for a lower performance. Another question: how do I determine the correct speed for my RAM? Also, why is my main memory so slow now after switching to Windows 11? Any suggestions?

I searched for the different serial numbers online, which also mentioned 2666, but that’s not a sure thing. Since it isn’t clearly marked, I don’t want to blame anyone, even though the price seems reasonable. I turned on XMP in the BIOS, but it doesn’t seem to help much. A few people online are adjusting other settings but can’t find a clear solution. This is my work and gaming PC, so I’d rather avoid risky changes. It’s really frustrating.

Enable XMP in the BIOS to avoid default DDR4 performance settings.

It's likely most motherboards will restore standard RAM speeds after a memory configuration change is blocked. Check the BIOS settings and turn on XMP support.

I adjusted XMP settings on the second request, but the main drive is now operating at maximum capacity. When I added the other drives, the system failed to boot. I’m considering turning off XMP and using the two spare drives instead, then re-enabling it. It worked perfectly before Windows 11, so I’m not too pleased about this change.

It probably happened when I inserted the other sticks. At least my main 32GB is working at full capacity now. Why isn’t the speed listed on the sticker? The 4x8GB units perform just like the rest, but now I realize the spares were from a prebuild and the company seemed completely unreliable. They were among the few with RX 3000 series cards (this was 18 months ago).
