Windows 11 issues freezing when audio plays and the cursor is active.
My computer freezes during gameplay, yet audio and the mouse remain functional. This occurs regardless of whether Chrome or Discord is active, even when neither is running. When the Windows clock freezes on Windows 11, pressing ALT + TAB to another window or quitting Valorant causes the PC to stall while exiting, but it doesn’t fully shut down. I can still hear sounds and see the cursor move, but the system stays unresponsive. Attempts to open File Explorer or Task Manager fail. If I don’t stop Valorant and the clock freezes, I anticipate a complete freeze on my next action, whether switching windows or closing the game. This problem has been ongoing for about a year and a half, since I first encountered it. PC specifications: Ryzen 9 5950X EVGA RTX 3080 (Full build details available via PC Part Picker)
