It seems the behavior might be linked to an admin account on both platforms. You can likely adjust settings there to modify permissions.

Microsoft strongly dislikes Blizzard and OW, urging you to think twice. It might be a system-wide update in MS OS that affects launching launchers and games from sites like Mihoyo or Epic (excluding Steam), especially after a license change under a year ago. I receive similar permission prompts when using newer versions.

Ensure UAC is active; Windoze often restores it automatically without warning.

I didn't turn it off, not on my Win 10 setup either, so I'm curious why Win 11 keeps asking for permission when Win 10 doesn't. Also, this isn't the UAC prompt—it's pushing you to "run anyway." This one is about ongoing system updates. I usually don't encounter real UAC messages; I'd really like to understand what Battlenet is constantly changing.

Modifying the system notifications is what triggers the UAC alert, so turn it off and check for variations when launching the Battlenet client.

This appears to be the most accurate breakdown so far about various versions. It seems newer Windows 10 releases might handle older games differently—my current version is likely around 5 years behind the latest updates. idk, I had to patch things up because some titles just don’t work on very old systems.
