The microphone icon disappears from the taskbar depending on the version. In Windows 10 you can hide it via hidden icons or remove it entirely, while Windows 11 doesn’t offer the same options.

It appears issues that were problematic in Windows 10 become more severe in Windows 11. This pattern is often observed.

It's because it's set up as a master mute feature. It wasn't included in the official launch. Only insiders can access it. The button will disappear automatically when no application is using it.
