I purchased a Fiio KA 11 USB C DAC/AMP and connected my DT 770 Pro to it. It functions perfectly. I linked it via the MB USB C port on the back (a USB 3.2 interface). When I restart my PC and log into Windows, the speakers appear as Steam Streaming Speakers, not my headphones, which are identified as Fiio KA11. I need to unplug and replug it manually every time. Help? My system runs Zen 4, 5600X with a B550M Aorus Pro P MB.

Have you considered making the DAC your primary audio source?

We did a lot of USB power management work, updated chipset drivers, and removed all other output devices. The problem is that when the PC restarts from shutdown, the Windows login screen chimes normally, but disappears once I log in—can’t detect it. I have to plug it back in manually. However, if I put the PC to sleep and then wake it up, logging in works smoothly.

Drivers were my initial thought. Is the DAC running its own drivers or relies on generic ones from Microsoft?

You might want to check the System Event Logs by right-clicking the start menu and selecting Event Viewer. This could provide useful information. After reviewing reports online, Gemini suggested that the FiiO KA11 sometimes faces connection and audio problems—light stays on but no sound or it doesn’t start up. Here are some steps to try:

1. Change USB settings in UAC 1.0 (most effective fix)
- Install the FiiO Control App on your Android device.
- Connect the KA11 and switch USB mode from UAC 2.0 to UAC 1.0.
- This may reduce the sampling rate but often resolves stability issues.

2. Adjust power settings in Windows (for PC)
- Disable USB Selective Suspend via Control Panel → Hardware and Sound → Power Options.
- Turn off Link State Power Management under PCI Express settings.
- Avoid using official drivers; some users succeeded by skipping the FiiO DAC driver or installing a generic USB driver.
- Try connecting to a different USB port, preferably directly on the motherboard.

3. Fix phone connection problems (Android/Samsung)
- Enable OTG in your phone settings.
- For Samsung devices, especially the S24 Ultra, the KA11 can behave as a non-functional device.
- Reverting to UAC 1.0 is usually the best solution.

4. Update firmware
- Confirm the KA11 has the latest version from the FiiO support site (e.g., V0.08).

5. Perform hardware inspection
- If the light is blue but no sound and it’s not recognized, the device might have a power issue.
- Try unplugging and plugging it back in to rule out loose connections.

If none of these work, the unit could be faulty.

All drivers are out of the question. I'm considering purchasing an adapter for USB 2 ports. If that doesn't work, I'll just return it, probably.

Could be the DAC itself.

When it functions, it operates flawlessly. I only have to insert it manually if it fails to connect, after which it performs perfectly.

It seems you're asking about what Gemini reports regarding current trends or observations. Could you clarify which topic or context you mean? That way I can provide a more accurate response.
