Hey everyone, a few days back my GPU (GTX 1060 6GB) stopped supporting DP and DVI Output. Now only one HDMI port is working, which isn’t enough for my two monitors. The odd part is that all three ports function in BIOS and Windows Recovery Mode. I tried reinstalling the drivers using DDU from guru3d.com, but it didn’t help. I suspect something with my Windows installation might be the issue. At that time I was still running Windows 10, so I reinstalled it too without success. Now I’m moving to Windows 11, but it still doesn’t detect the GPU. Neither automatically nor manually via the "Detect Display" option. I’m getting really frustrated, could you help? Thanks a lot! Here are my details: CPU – Intel Core i5-6600K; Motherboard – ASRock Z170A-X1/3.1; RAM – Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200MHz (2x8GB); GPU – MSI GeForce GTX 1060 6GT OC (912-V809-2207); Monitors – Acer Nitro VG0 VG240YP (1080p/144Hz) and Acer CB241HY (1080p/60Hz) connected via DisplayPort and HDMI with DVI adapter.

Try starting from DDU first (make sure you have the latest version from the provided link). When you begin DDU, it will prompt whether to launch in safe mode or with networking enabled. After restarting, the application will appear. Pick your options carefully, then select "prevent windows update from installing drivers." Choose clean and shutdown for setting up a new GPU installation. Once the PC is back on, proceed with installing the NVIDIA drivers.

Thanks for reaching out! I understand how confusing this can be. I’m here to help figure out what might have happened. Did you try restarting your device or checking for any error messages?

There seems to be a driver-related problem. It would be best to back up your data, including the Windows 11 license key (especially if you upgraded from Windows 10), and then reinstall Windows.

I've already tried it. It's a fresh Windows 11 setup right now. I think the problem is with the drivers. The most unusual part is that everything was fine before, then after three days off I went on vacation and didn't get any updates—no Windows patches or Nvidia driver fixes—but when I returned, the issue appeared again. Probably I'll have to reinstall the OS again... Ugh, Nvidia!

I just reinstalled Windows 11 completely, clearing all partitions, but the problem persists. DisplayPort functions in BIOS and the Windows loading screen, yet it doesn’t work inside Windows. What other solutions are left?

DDU once more (in safe mode) clean and restart. Consider using a previous driver version. It might be worth trying an older one or a legacy driver.

I attempted that using the most recent driver for Windows 11, but it didn’t work. Then I cleaned everything with DDU and let Windows install drivers independently. When I restart, DP functions again, though only until I connect anything to the HDMI port. After that, DP stops working completely and only HDMI works once more. WHAT’S GOING ON...

I retrieved my GTX 550 Ti, connected everything, skipped driver installation, and it’s functioning properly! Dual display output is working now. The main concern remains with my 1060. A software problem seems more likely, as hardware appears to be in BIOS. I attempted to boot an old SSD running Windows 10, which hasn’t received updates in a few months—same issue occurred. I also tried running both the 1060 and 550Ti together for multiple displays and consistent performance, but now I’m capped at 60Hz on both screens. After installing a driver for the 1060, I tried to achieve 144Hz, but the 550Ti stopped working again.
