Attempt to launch Brave on Windows 11 isn't working. Steps to reproduce: double-click the installer to start Brave, but it opens and then shuts down instantly. Same issue appears with Chrome. I installed Brave/Chrome recently from a Walmart pre-built PC. Antivirus software is disabled, only Windows Defender remains active. I’m pursuing a remote connection via Parsec (latest version) to access the system. All drivers and Windows 11 updates are current. Restarted multiple times, reinstalled browsers, but nothing works. Even running as administrator doesn’t resolve the problem. Helpful advice would be greatly appreciated. I’ve also shared my troubles on the Google forum, but no solution has been found. My Google data was copied to a separate folder, which briefly opens for a second before closing again. This behavior seems linked to Chromium.”

Have you considered restoring Windows from Microsoft? It will eliminate all the unnecessary software they included. If required, you can check your Windows key using a tool such as Produkey (by nirsoft); it should remain functional after the reinstall.

I haven’t attempted it yet. Since I’m connecting remotely, he’ll need to do it once he’s back with your assistance. What options do you have? Is it possible to adjust his system to Windows 10?

It’s hard to lower the version without reinstalling, but once he’s back home he can switch to Windows 10. Based on what I’ve seen, most Windows 11 drivers function on 10.

We can restart Windows by going to Settings and choosing Reset, which will reinstall the operating system.

You might attempt it again; it could retain the same Walmart issues but potentially resolve your problem.

Thanks. If it doesn't work then I'll create an ISO and install it myself (too risky with him since he's never had a computer before—only a Chromebook, so my other friend is handling all the hard work). I'll share an update once we've decided on the plan. Appreciate your help.

We repeatedly reset the system but it didn’t help. I checked all options and nothing resolved it. I found a helpful YouTube tutorial that fixed the problem. Testing safe mode also resolved it, working with both Chrome and Brave. Following the video’s instructions helped it function properly in both browsers.
