Windows 11 doesn't install on new USB drives when using Ventoy.
Hello, I usually run Linux Mint 95% of the time and only use Windows for unsupported Anti Cheat games. I haven’t faced any problems installing it before, but recently with two new Ventoy copies on different USB drives and two fresh Windows 11 ISO files, the installer stopped midway during setup. It reported an error (installation failed) and then when trying to boot to the target SSD it showed a code 0xc0000225, which is expected since the installation was incomplete. I’m not sure what to do next. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Thank you!
Use Rufus to create a Windows 11 ISO image on a USB stick. Avoid dual-booting unless needed. For a simpler setup, you can format the drive with DISKPART CLEAN. After booting, select recovery options and enter the command line to complete the process.
Since it's an EXE file, the equivalent on Linux Mint would be a .deb package.
You can also check out Etcher for Linux at https://etcher.balena.io/#download-etcher
Rufus is also an executable file and not a Linux installer, so I'll attempt it once more.
Someone suggested using the installation assistant or media to move the ISO to Windows 11, but it’s an executable file meant for users already on Windows 10 or 11. I’m looking for another program that can write the ISO to a USB drive, and I’m considering Etcher as my next option.
