Windows 11 does not recognize the Ethernet adapter.
I had an Ethernet adapter that functioned perfectly with my Windows 10 laptop. After upgrading, I connected the new one and noticed it wasn't appearing anywhere. I reviewed the settings and Device Manager, confirmed the lights are on. As you recall, it requires a Realtek driver. Could you assist further? Thanks. Note: I previously used Hamachi as well.
I don’t see any devices marked with an exclamation point in the Device Manager, and I can’t determine the exact Ethernet adapter model from that information alone.
I would need at least the model number of the adapter but I know some older adapters simply dropped support for Windows 11 for various reasons. If you know the chip used by the adapter you may have some luck finding a driver directly from Realtek. Emphasis on the "may" part of the sentence. Good luck !
Thank you for the images. The adapter is utilizing the chip RTL8152B, which is a compact square component with four pins. These chips are designed to function on Windows without requiring a driver, though it seems Windows 11 may have removed support for them. On Realtek's site, you can attempt their auto-configuration tool (listed first under Windows) at the provided link: https://www.realtek.com/Download/List?cate_id=585. If this doesn't resolve the issue, purchasing a different adapter might be necessary. Good luck!
Yes, you must install the chipset drivers first before seeing any network card.
