Hi guys.
Windows 11 Pro didn't finish the backup on my external HDD. Problems are:
1. Backup failed while backing up file C:\Users\WsiAccount\Searches. Error
🙁 The system can't locate the file specified. (0x80070002))
2. Backup failed while backing up file C:\Users\WsiAccount\Contacts. Error
🙁 The system can't find the file specified. (0x80070002))
I don't need Searches or Contacts - I don't have them on my Windows...
My question is - can I use that external HDD for system recovery if my Windows fails?

Check the backups. They need to be tested.

Should Windows perform the complete backup or is a simple check sufficient?
I'm worried about losing my system because I have crucial data stored there.

EDIT
Can I set up a backup on my NVMe storage and turn off Windows Shadow Copy? Will turning it off remove existing restore points, or will it simply prevent new backups from being created?
I aim to create one consolidated backup and stop automatic backups. I understand that disabling System Protection would erase all restore points.

Check your backup procedure.
Create a backup file.
Simulate a drive failure (simulate as if it has stopped working).
Swap in the replacement drive.
Restore the system onto the new drive.
Verify that your system is back online and functioning properly.

Ensure you create several backups and keep them in various places.

I create a single internal backup on a 2TB SSD and another external WD Black mechanical 3.5" 2TB HDD. The HDD stays unplugged when not in use for safety. Acronis is a great backup tool.

I performed the same. I believe restricting system protection on my C: drive to 1% will enable it to generate a single backup until that percentage is reached, after which no further backups will be made. Is that accurate?

This assumption isn't reliable.
