I've been attempting to upgrade to Windows 11 but each time I try to download it it crashes with a blue screen and prompts to undo changes. I verify my PC is in good condition for the download. My system specs are: CPU Ryzen 7 3700X, RAM Trident Z Neo 8GB, 3600MHz, motherboard ASRock B550 Pro, and GPU 1660.
Consider using the media creation tool to make a USB stick and then upgrade from there—it usually performs better. Running memtest might also help confirm your memory is stable.
Recent updates include FTPM enabled in the BIOS, Secure Boot activated, and CSM turned off. The latest chipset drivers have been downloaded from AMD. All other drivers are current, including IOBit Driver Booster. Some software may interfere with a smooth upgrade process, such as antivirus or anti-malware programs.
I've never had problem with it, upgraded several PCs from 10 to 11 within the OS. I actually have one PC where since doing a clean install its missing drivers for SM Bus Controller and PCI Memory Controller. I always forget which driver package I need for those but its working without for now. (was the chipset inf utility)
I planned to refresh my drivers but wasn’t sure whether to get the Windows 10 or Windows 11 version.
