Hello, I’m looking for feedback on my PC issues. It began with odd boot behavior—when sleep mode activated, the DRAM and CPU indicators lit up on the motherboard, forcing me to restart by toggling the PSU. Over time, this worsened to a point where Windows wouldn’t boot at all, leaving only a black screen or a partially booted system with the GPU unresponsive. (I had four days of stable GPU performance until I powered it off again.)
In Device Manager, error code 43 appears on my GPU. My troubleshooting steps include: reseating the GPU, reinstalling all PSU cables, fresh Windows 11 installation, replacing RAM, updating Nvidia drivers, moving the GPU to a different PCIe slot (it worked until power cycle), and resetting BIOS settings.
I’m uncertain whether the problem lies with the motherboard or CPU. I’m hoping someone has faced similar issues before I consider sending it for repair. Also, I cleaned dust from the case since I took that photo—lol!
Open the Windows device manager, right-click your GPU, and select uninstall. After that, you can reinstall the drivers. Before proceeding, ensure your drivers are up to date and saved. Also, examine the driver version details in the installer file. Perform a web search using the driver version number to see if others encountered problems with it.
Thank you for your responses. I’ve followed both of your suggestions, but unfortunately it didn’t work. Now even when I attempt to use Windows with video from my motherboard, I still see the image below. It seems like a more significant problem, possibly related to the boot drive or something else.
I updated my GPU to memory express two weeks ago and the manufacturer confirmed everything was okay. Today they took it in for a test and found the same issue—error code 43 appeared, so only integrated graphics were supported. It looks like the GPU is damaged; I need to return it for replacement. Appreciate the advice!
