Recently I've noticed my internet speeds have slowed down. I usually see around 150 Mbps while everyone else in my home gets 300+ Mbps. My new motherboard makes that unlikely, I tried it on another PC and it worked well there too, so that narrows it down. I changed the router ports and still got 300+ with a few different connections, which suggests the issue might be software-related. Could Windows be the cause? If so, how can I fix it? Also, my Windows seems up to date, just feels old and hasn't been reinstalled recently.

Windows reinstall resolved the problem. However, it's worth understanding what might have led to this situation.

You likely didn’t reinstall Windows after switching boards and instead continued using the previous setup, only updating occasionally. This might lead to driver conflicts between your old motherboard and the new one, affecting settings too. A clean installation tailored for the new board would have resolved these issues.

Notice the odd fact that I was slowing down even on my older board. I thought the newer one would solve the issue, but it didn’t, so I ran my tests again—still nothing, so I reinstalled Windows.
