Windows 7 appears to be functioning well alongside the Windows 10 tech preview on my older machine (Vista capable with 4GB RAM and Core 2 Duo). This causes the CPU and RAM to be heavily utilized, leading to significant slowdowns compared to XP. After a short period of inactivity, the system becomes more responsive, though Windows 10 still outperforms XP in most cases—except for a few games.
Those issues persist even with XP. Only Lubuntu has provided a feel that could be considered contemporary on the more premium variant.
