Windows 10 works well with Realtek audio drivers.
I recently switched to Windows 10 and installed the MSI Krait X99 MOBO. I visited their site to download the latest Realtek audio driver. After setting it up, the usual installation steps started. Old programs were uninstalled and the new ones were applied. But I'm stuck in an endless cycle. Once the old software was removed, the computer would restart, then the setup would appear again, followed by another uninstall process. Even after canceling the second one and restarting, the old driver remained active. The second problem is that I need audio from both my USB headset and Logitech speakers. In the audio settings, I tried enabling stereo mixing and setting it as default, but it didn't work. Sound came out sometimes, but my microphone wouldn't function properly. It worked fine on Windows 8.1 now. Any suggestions to resolve this with Windows 10?
Realtek software feels terrible. It cuts audio everywhere it doesn’t reach and often lowers volume too much. For help, I wrote another article on changing drivers via Device Manager. You can also pick "Automatically find drivers" in the top menu, which usually installs them without needing a custom setup.
Sadly, I've already attempted this without success. Recently, I managed to capture audio from both speakers and headphones with some adjustments, but the microphone isn't working. I plan to test a different headset to determine if the issue lies with the device's driver, which hasn't been updated yet (no new drivers available at the moment)
Access the Windows Feedback app and submit your issue. They handle it promptly.
USB headset. I switched to another one and it’s functioning now. This model seems to handle both speakers and the headset without stereo mixing, which is unusual. It works fine now, though I’m puzzled why the microphone gets turned off on other headsets. At least it’s back to normal. Thanks for your assistance!
