Remove every file except STEAMEXE and the STEAMAPPS directory. After that, launch Steam.exe once more.

I recently used it. It worked at first, but then... it stopped functioning. Every time I log in, everything halts.

It's running Windows 10 Home. I'm considering a fresh install, though I'm not sure if I should go through the hassle. Right now I don't have any other options.

Similar to the current exact release, as Microsoft no longer tests Windows versions, many issues remain. You might look for an earlier ISO or download the newest one directly from their site.

Ensure no AV software is running. If present, turn it off. You may also attempt to disable Windows AV.
