I've been attempting to set up Windows 10 all day, but the "a media driver your computer needs is missing" message keeps appearing right after I start the installation from the USB drive. I've tried various solutions others recommended, yet nothing seems to work. I changed the port after getting the error and retried, switched the USB to another one, and even reinstalled it multiple times using different tools. I don’t recall needing any specific drivers, so I’m hoping someone here can help. My system has a Ryzen 5 1600, GTX 1060, 8GB RAM, an M.2 SSD, and a traditional HDD. What could resolve this issue?

Have you considered trying alternative installation methods? Sometimes moving the drive to another PC and reinstalling can solve problems, but if you restart and replace the drive in your original computer, it usually works fine. I’ve done this before without any issues.

The issue arises when Windows lacks driver support for your USB Controller boards, preventing it from locating the installation files. Have you checked all ports? Your board might have two controllers, and Windows only recognizes one. Alternatively, Windows may reject any of your controllers. Another option is to insert the driver disc, go to Add Driver, search for USB drivers, and select the correct one.

I've attempted to change ports several times, checking each one. Since this PC doesn't have a DVD drive, I'm copying the DVD content to a USB drive on another machine. I'll update you on the outcome.
